Grandma’s Yogurt Cake

Grilled Chicken w/ Yogurt
Preparation : 15 min
Cooking : 20 min
Ingredients (serves 2) :
- 2 skinless chicken breasts
- 2 limes
- 3 unflavored yogurts
- 1 tomato
- 1/2 cucumber
- 2 onions
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- salt and pepper
Directions :
Cut deep parallel slits in the chicken about 2 cm apart.
In a bowl, mix 2 yogurts with the juice of 1 lime and 1 tbsp olive oil.
Add salt and pepper.
Marinate the chicken breasts, turning the pieces over several times in this sauce.
Cover with a film wrap and keep in the fridge while preparing the garnish.
Cut the cucumber in half, length wise.
Take out the seeds. Slice and seed the tomato. Chop onions finely.
Drain the chicken and wipe with a paper towel.
Cook for 20 min in the oven under the grill; turn over half way through cooking.
Quarter the remaining lime and grill for 2 min.
Serve the raw vegetables with the chicken, Pour the remaining yogurt in a small bowl, add salt and pepper and serve together.

Grandma’s Yogurt Cake
Preparation : 5 min
Cooking : 40 min
Ingredients (for 6 people) :
- 1 natural yogurt
- little more than 1/2 cup of sugar
- 2 3/4 cups of flour
- less than 1/2 cup of oil
- 2 eggs
- drops of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 tbsp of rum
- parchment paper (if not a little butter in the cake mold)
Directions :
In a large bowl, combine the yogurt, the vanilla and the sugar, the flour, baking powder, the oil, the eggs and then the rum.
Mix with the whip until smooth.
Line the bottom of 1 cake mould with the greaseproof paper or butter it.
Pour in the preparation.
Bake between 30 and 45 min, 400°F.
It is cooked when the blade of the knife comes out dry!

Appetizer Yogurt Cake
Preparation : 20 min
Cooking : 45 min
Ingredients (for 6-8 people) :
- 3 cups of flour
- 1 natural yogurt
- 4 eggs
- 3/4 cup of sunflower oil
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of grated gruyere cheese
...and choose among:
- bacon/green and black olives/hazelnuts
- peeled red peppers, green and yellow in small dices and tuna
- poached salmon/smoked salmon/shrimps/chive/pistachios
Directions :
Break the eggs in a bowl.
Beat until the mixture whitens and takes a little volume.
Gently add oil, continuing whipping.
Add the yogurt and beat once more for 2 min.
Filter half of the flour and add it to the mixture by raising well the mass of dough using a spatula to incorporate it well.
Continue with the remaining flour adding some salt and baking powder.
The dough must be perfectly homogeneous.
Add the grated Gruyere cheese and the filling of your choice.
Mix well.
Butter a cake mold and pour the paste in.
Bake at 400°F 40 to 45 min.
Check the cooking using a toothpick, it should be perfectly dry.
